Continuing Reaver Attacks

Recent Reaver activity on Hale's Moon has become a concern for many residents. The town is eternally grateful to the folks who've laid their lives on the line to stand against the Reaver scourge, but also mourn the loss of several citizens residing in outlaying homesteads. Recent attacks over the last few days have resulted in the death of six colonists and several serious injuries.

The increase in Reaver activity has come as something of a surprise, as historically Hale's orbit has not been on their usual approach vectors. The colonial administration is investigating the possibility that the Reavers have positioned a large host ship, or possibly a raiding fleet in the vicinity and request that passing ships relay any unusual nav array readings to Hale's flight control.

Additionally, the Town Council would like to thank those who've applied for the Law Enforcement contract for their interest and will be reviewing their applications as soon as possible.

Openings remain

With the Reaver raid on Hale's Moon colony earlier in the week, the need for someone to fill the empty Law Enforcement position has become more pressing. Interested parties are asked to contact either the Mayor, via wave, or her secretary, Genni Foxtrot, in Hale's Moon town hall.

The colony would also like to thank Blackburne resident, Archer Bleich, for providing impromptu training classes to the residents of Hale's Moon. His skill in close quarters fighting has been a blessing to the colony on more than one occasion and his kindness hasn't gone unnoticed.

Temporary openings for Law Enforcement.

With the recent departure of both active members of Hale's Moon's Sheriff's Department, the colony has been left with a void in Law Enforcement capability. While the citizens of Hale's Moon sincerely hope the departures are only temporary, recent actions on the colony have led the town council to seek an individual who can fill in on a contract basis. While professional security contract services are available, the council prefers someone familiar with Frontier Law, the unique position, and culture, of the colony itself.

This is listed as a Temporary Contract position, with the possibility of a permanent assignment. Interested parties are asked to speak to either the Mayor, or her secretary, in Hale's Moon's town hall. Applications will be reviewed by the Town Council before a final decision is made.

Another warbot spotted on Hale's

Yesterday, another of the heavily armed multi-limbed warbots was spotted on Hale's Moon. The device entered town and engaged several citizens and doing some moderate property damage, before ultimately being destroyed by the quick acting crew of the Firefly class transport Raivenn.

This is the second encounter in less than a month with these advanced war machines. Citizens are reminded that these devices are a good deal more dangerous that the defensive drones deployed near the Mines, that have sometimes been known to misidentify people and attack without warning, and are advised to seek shelter immediately and raise the alarm.

The Mayor's Office has been mum on whether these machines are related to the ones recently encountered on Blackburne.

The Citizens of Hale's Moon would like to thank the crew of the Raivenn for their quick actions to this immediate threat.

Repeated Raider Attacks

Recent Raider attacks on Hale's Moon - not associated with the remaining Loyalists - have become an increasing problem since the start of reconstruction and Hale's Moon's subsequent growing popularity as a cargo transfer station.

The Raiders appear well organized, landing in either small shuttles or medium light transports, making off successfully with cargo stolen from the transfer area beneath the platform or with vital spares taken from the hangar area.

Spacecraft used by the Raiders have been identified in one case as a light intermediate range shuttle and in another as a standard Aught-Three Firefly. The sheer popularity of that model in the Rim sectors makes positive identification difficult, but the vessel's Ident and markings have been broadcast over the Cortex feed to other worlds in the region.

Citizens are asked to remain vigilant and raise the alarm if suspicious persons are seen milling about the cargo transfer area, general store, or hangar and maintenance facilities.

Hale's Moon Devastated

The skies over Hales moon lit up even brighter last night as several asteroids came crashing down through the limited atmosphere. It had been speculated since the failure of the protective barrier that it was only a matter of time before the asteroids began to impact with the surface.

At the time of the failure it had been estimated the chance of one of the asteroids striking the small colony to be less than two percent. Those estimates were shattered when not one but two of the large rocks plummeted from the skies striking the townsite.

Initial damage reports show a large crater behind Fook Yoo's, and another on the far side of town where the hydroponic gardens once stood. The intense heat and radiation from the asteroids have so far made close investigation impossible, however it appears that two apartments and two of the hydroponics bays were destroyed completely. The damage extends beyond the physical structure, as several months worth of food reserves were stored in the bays that were destroyed.

In related news a wireless transmission from Alliance forces indicate the Sun Tzu has pulled out of orbit of Hale's Moon. Reports are that they are pursuing a group of "loyalists" who have stolen advanced weaponry, possibly capable of knocking the asteroids from orbit. It is estimated there are approximately 32 of the rogue Alliance soldiers.

It is possible those renegades are on the surface of Hale's at this time. Only hours after the initial impact of the asteroids, at least two individuals dressed in partial alliance uniform were gunned down in the mines after multiple explosive charges were detonated beneath the surface. In addition an alliance troop transport was found in the ravine behind the hangar, its markings blacked out, leading to speculation that the ship belonged to the renegade troops. Colonists detonated several charges, destroying he ship, effectively cutting off the loyalists from any means of escape.

There are potentially several more of these loyalists hiding deep within the mines, residents are advised to use caution when going near the mine entrances.

A town meeting is expected to be called to address concerns in light of the devastation caused last night.
